Lower child fever without medications

If your child is having a fever, it can be very stressful and a big deal for you. Many studies have confirmed that if your child is completely healthy, then fever is nothing you need to worry about.
A fever is actually a way for the organism to fight off an infection causing your child to be sick. If this fever is getting worse, and your child is burning up and is uncomfortable, then there are some natural and very simple steps than can help your child feel better.
Here are the homemade natural methods to lower child’s fever in less than 5 minutes:
Cold washcloth on forehead
This method is extremely effective in lowering high fever. All you need to do is to put a cool, damp washcloth on your child’s forehead. It is best that you put the cool cloth while your child is sleeping or resting.
Give your child plenty of fluids and chilled food
Your child should intake lots of cold foods and drinks to help it lower the body’s temperature from the inside out. It’s extremely important to keep the child hydrated all the time.
Brandy and water
Combine equal amounts of brandy and water. A shot glass works well as a measuring tool. Soak a gauze in the solution and wrap it around your child’s feet. Put their cotton socks on.
Apply a cool, damp washcloth onto your little child’s forehead while it is resting. This will draw fever out of it.
Grated potatoes
First, you need to wash and peel the potatoes. Then, you need to grate the peeled potatoes and after that, put them in the child’s socks. It is going to lower the fever and your little one will feel much better.
Keep your child indoor in cool place
You need to stay inside with your child, in cool place. If your child goes outside, then it needs to stay in shade.
You can use a fan
Remember to keep the fan on low mode and adjust it so that it only circulates the air around your child. Don’t let it blow directly on your kid.
Remove layers of clothing
This is also a useful tip. You can remove layers of clothing, so that your little one can lose the body heat much more easily through the skin. You need to dress your child more lightly. In case your child is shivering, you can cover it with some light blanket until its warm again.
Give your child a lukewarm bath
Lukewarm baths are super efficient. While evaporating, water cools your child’s skin and decrease its body temperature. Remember, you should never use cold water! You do not like your child shivering and increasing its body temperature is the last thing you need.
Remember:
You must see a doctor immediately if your child is younger than 3 month and has a fever, and the baby’s temperature reaches 101 degrees or higher. In case your baby is older than 6 months, then you need to call a doctor if the baby’s temperature reaches 102 degrees or more.
